His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Eastern Province Development Authority, chaired today the meeting of the Authority’s Council in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, Vice Chairman of the Council and Chairman of the Executive Committee, along with Their Excellencies and distinguished members of the Council.
At the outset of the meeting, His Royal Highness affirmed that the generous support and attention extended by the wise leadership, may Allah support it, have enabled the Eastern Province to achieve significant qualitative leaps in its development and growth journey. His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of continued integration and coordination among public and private entities to achieve the highest levels of efficiency in implementing development projects, ensuring their sustainability for the benefit of citizens and residents, and aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He further highlighted the importance of developing innovative initiatives that enhance the quality of life and promote balanced and comprehensive development across the cities and governorates of the Eastern Province.
The Council reviewed several items on its agenda, including updates on ongoing construction and development projects in various cities and governorates of the region, such as the Khobar Downtown Development Project, the Dareen Palace and Heritage Village Restoration Project, the Arts Center and Walkway Project, the Khobar Environmental Park, and the Southern Khobar Corniche Project.
The Council also approved the Eastern Province Urban Indicators Report 2025, which reflects the region’s development landscape and level of urban progress, and endorsed the Institutional Strategy of the Eastern Province Development Authority (2026 – 2030) aimed at enhancing institutional efficiency and maximizing developmental impact. Members were further briefed on the latest updates regarding the Authority’s initiatives and strategic projects.
For his part, Dr. Talal bin Nabeel Al-Moghlouth, Acting CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province, Chairman of the Council, and to His Royal Highness the Deputy Governor for their continuous support and guidance, which serve as a key driver in achieving the region’s comprehensive development goals. He affirmed that the Authority continues to advance steadily toward strengthening institutional performance in ways that contribute to sustainable development and improved quality of life across the cities and governorates of the Eastern Province.

رأس صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير سعود بن نايف بن عبدالعزيز أمير المنطقة الشرقية رئيس مجلس هيئة تطوير المنطقة الشرقية، اليوم الأربعاء، اجتماع مجلس الهيئة، بحضور صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير سعود بن بندر بن عبدالعزيز نائب أمير المنطقة الشرقية نائب رئيس المجلس ورئيس اللجنة التنفيذية، وأصحاب المعالي والسعادة أعضاء المجلس.
وأكد سمو أمير المنطقة الشرقية في مستهل الاجتماع أن ما تحظى به المنطقة من دعمٍ واهتمامٍ كريم من القيادة الرشيدة – أيدها الله – مكّنها من تحقيق قفزات نوعية في مسيرة التنمية والبناء، مشددًا سموه على أهمية استمرار التكامل والتنسيق بين مختلف الجهات الحكومية والخاصة لتحقيق أعلى مستويات الكفاءة في تنفيذ المشاريع التنموية، وضمان استدامتها بما يعود بالنفع على المواطن والمقيم، ويواكب مستهدفات رؤية السعودية 2030 ، منوهًا سموه بأهمية تطوير المبادرات النوعية التي تسهم في تعزيز جودة الحياة وتحقيق تنمية متوازنة وشاملة في مدن ومحافظات المنطقة الشرقية.
واستعرض المجلس عددًا من الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول الأعمال، من أبرزها حالة المشاريع الإنشائية والتنموية الجاري تنفيذها في مدن ومحافظات المنطقة، ومن بينها مشروع تطوير مركز مدينة الخبر، ومشروع تأهيل وترميم قصر دارين وبلدة دارين التراثية، وممشى ومركز الفنون، ومنتزه الخبر البيئي، وكورنيش الخبر الجنوبي.
كما اعتمد المجلس تقرير المؤشرات الحضرية للمنطقة الشرقية لعام 2025م، الذي يعكس واقع التنمية ومستوى التقدم الحضري في المنطقة، ووافق على مشروع الاستراتيجية المؤسسية لهيئة تطوير المنطقة الشرقية (2026 – 2030) الهادفة إلى رفع كفاءة العمل المؤسسي وتعزيز الأثر التنموي، إضافة إلى الاطلاع على مستجدات أعمال الهيئة ومبادراتها النوعية.
من جانبه، رفع الرئيس التنفيذي المكلف لهيئة تطوير المنطقة الشرقية الدكتور طلال بن نبيل المغلوث الشكر والتقدير لسمو أمير المنطقة الشرقية رئيس مجلس الهيئة، وسمو نائبه، على دعمهما المستمر وتوجيهاتهما السديدة التي تمثل دافعًا رئيسًا لتحقيق مستهدفات التنمية الشاملة في المنطقة، مؤكدًا أن الهيئة تمضي بخطى ثابتة نحو تطوير منظومة العمل المؤسسي بما ينعكس على التنمية وتعزيز جودة الحياة في مدن ومحافظات المنطقة .
