His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, received today at his office in the Emirate’s headquarters the Chairman of the “Mujassam Watan” (Nation Sculpture) Competition Board, Mr. Abdullah Al-Fozan.
His Royal Highness stressed the importance of enhancing the urban landscape and the aesthetic quality of cities, emphasizing the need to link public squares and artistic sculptures to the Kingdom’s history and cultural heritage. He noted that such initiatives reflect the renewed Saudi identity and strengthen national belonging. His Royal Highness affirmed that creative projects that embody national and historical values contribute significantly to enriching public spaces and form an integral part of the comprehensive development journey supported by the wise leadership, may Allah support it.
Mr. Al-Fozan presented to His Royal Highness an overview of the seventh edition of the competition, which has witnessed a qualitative leap in both participation and artistic outcomes. The submitted works showcased diversity, and the winning projects demonstrated a global perspective and cultural depth, reflecting the participants’ vision and their impressions of the Kingdom’s global stature, rich culture, and architectural and artistic development. He also presented a briefing on the sculpture titled “Unity of a Nation,” which narrates the story of the late King Abdulaziz, may Allah have mercy on him, and his pivotal role in unifying the Kingdom.
Mr. Al-Fozan explained that the competition has become a leading national platform in the fields of art and architecture, contributing to the promotion of design aesthetics and the highlighting of the cultural and artistic dimensions of sculptures. The initiative aligns with a vision aimed at enhancing the visual appeal of Saudi cities and improving the quality of life.
Meanwhile, the Competition’s Operations Director, Eng. Mohammed Al-Ghunaimi stated that the seventh edition, held under the theme “Inspiration Around You”, received broad engagement from designers, architects, and artists, with over 300 submissions inspired by the local environment and Saudi Arabia’s naturally rich and diverse landscapes.
He added that the judging committee selected six winning projects, including four to be implemented along the Khobar Waterfront and two at the Abu Hadriyah entrance, key locations that will help enhance the visual scene and strengthen the urban identity of the Eastern Province.
Mr. Al-Fozan concluded by expressing his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness, the Governor of the Eastern Province, for his continued support and interest in cultural and creative initiatives that highlight the beauty and identity of Saudi cities.

استقبل صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير سعود بن نايف بن عبدالعزيز، أمير المنطقة الشرقية، في مكتب سموه بديوان الإمارة اليوم الخميس ، رئيس مجلس إدارة مسابقة “مجسم وطن” الأستاذ عبدالله الفوزان.
وأكد سمو أمير المنطقة الشرقية أهمية الارتقاء بالمشهد الحضري وجمال المدن، وربط الميادين والمجسمات الفنية بتاريخ الوطن وإرثه الثقافي، بما يعكس الهوية السعودية المتجددة ويعزز الانتماء الوطني، مشددًا على أن المشروعات الإبداعية التي تُجسّد القيم الوطنية والتاريخية تُسهم في إثراء الفضاء العام، وتُعد جزءاً من التنمية الشاملة التي تحظى بدعم القيادة الرشيدة – أيدها الله –.
وقدّم الفوزان لسمو أمير المنطقة الشرقية عرضًا عن النسخة السابعة من المسابقة، التي شهدت نقلة نوعية على مستوى المشاركات والمخرجات الفنية، حيث تنوّعت الأعمال المقدّمة واتسمت المشاريع الفائزة بطابعها العالمي وعمقها الثقافي، مجسّدةً رؤية المشاركين وانطباعاتهم عن المكانة العالمية للمملكة وثراء ثقافتها وتطورها العمراني والفني، كما قدّم لسموه عرضاً عن مجسم “وحدة وطن” الذي يجسد رواية تحكي وقفات الملك عبدالعزيز – طيب الله ثراه – في انطلاق رحلة توحيد المملكة .
وأوضح الفوزان أن المسابقة أصبحت محطة وطنية رائدة في مجالات الفن والعمارة، تُسهم في ترسيخ جماليات التصميم وإبراز البعد الحضاري والفني للمجسمات، ضمن رؤية تهدف إلى تعزيز المشهد الجمالي في المدن السعودية وتحسين جودة الحياة.
من جهته، أوضح مدير العمليات لمسابقة “مجسم وطن” المهندس محمد الغنيمي، أن النسخة السابعة التي أقيمت تحت شعار “الإلهام حولك”، حظيت بتفاعل واسع من المصممين والمعماريين والفنانين، حيث استقبلت المسابقة أكثر من (300) مشاركة استلهمت أعمالها من البيئة المحلية والطبيعة السعودية الغنية بالعناصر الجمالية الملهمة.
وأشار إلى أن لجنة التحكيم اختارت ستة مشاريع فائزة، من بينها أربعة مشاريع ستُنفّذ على الواجهة البحرية بمدينة الخبر، ومشروعان في مدخل أبوحدرية، ضمن مواقع حيوية تُسهم في تجميل المشهد البصري وتعزيز الهوية العمرانية في المنطقة الشرقية.
ورفع الفوزان شكره وتقديره لسمو أمير المنطقة الشرقية على دعمه واهتمامه بالمبادرات الثقافية والإبداعية التي تسهم في إبراز جمال المدن .
